Working to Develop a New World-Class Copper District in Botswana, Africa
Hana Mining is focused on the development of the Ghanzi Copper-Silver Project in north-western, Botswana, where the Company's recent exploration activities have outlined a significant mineralized area extending 152 kilometres in length. In December 2010, Hana Mining announced the results of a NI 43-101 technical report which estimates that the project has Indicated resources of 762.3 million pounds of copper and 16.1 million ounces of silver from 37.4 million tonnes, all of which is from the Banana Zone. Also, there are Inferred resources of 5.6 billion pounds of copper and 85.4 million ounces of silver from 423.9 million tonnes at the Banana Zone, Chalcocite Zone, Zone 5 and Zone 6 at the Ghanzi Property. Most of the resources at the Ghanzi project are at the Banana Zone and the adjacent Chalcocite Zone. No adjustments have been made for mining recoveries or production yields.
Currently, Hana is working on a new 43-101-compliant resource estimate and a preliminary economic assessment study on the Banana and Chalcocite Zones. The results from the resource estimate and the preliminary economic assessment are expected to be available in early 2012.
The Ghanzi Project area consists of five license blocks covering 2,169 square kilometers. The project lands are host to widespread sediment-hosted copper-silver mineralization, suggesting the possibility for a future world-class Copper-Silver district.
