Hana Adds 1500 Meter Strike Length To New Discovery At Ghanzi, Botswana

NEW DRILLING RETURNS 2.36 %Cu AND 52.2 g/t Ag OVER 7.2 METERS TRUE WIDTH

Vancouver, BC, October 29, 2008 -- Hana Mining Ltd. (TSX-V: HMG) (Frankfurt: 4LH) is pleased to report results from seven more percussion holes from the new discovery at its sediment-hosted Ghanzi Copper-Silver Project in Botswana (Figure 1). The seven vertical cyclone-percussion holes, HA-08-P to HA-14-P, were drilled on the north limb of Zone 2 along a 1.5 kilometer strike length. Six of the holes intersected mineralization and the new discovery is now 2 kilometers long and open along strike and down dip (Figure 2).

Details of the results for the six mineralized holes are as follows:

Intercepts reported are intersection length and are estimated to be approximately 60% of true width. Drill sections and a 3D model can be viewed at http://www.corebox.net/properties/ghanzi/ or by following a link on the Company's website.

Cyclone-percussion drilling along the north limb of Zone 2 is designed to test the strike continuation of the new discovery on the north limb at Zone 2. These results are taken only as an indication of the presence of mineralization; two verification diamond drill holes have recently been completed at the new discovery and results are pending. These additional results demonstrate the continuity of mineralization at this new discovery. Hole HA-08-P intersected 2.36 %Cu and 52.2 g/t Ag over 7.2 meters true width within a wider zone that returned 1.12 %Cu and 25.4 g/t Ag over 16.2 meters true width. This hole was drilled below HA-07-P, where low grade mineralization was encountered (Press Release dated July 29, 2008). Holes HA-09 to11-P were drilled on the same section, 500 meters further along strike to the northeast. Hole HA-10-P intersected a broad zone of lower grade mineralization beginning at 114 meters vertical depth. This hole returned 0.30 %Cu over a true width of 25.2 meters. Hole HA-11-P, an updip hole, returned 1.05 %Cu and 5.0 g/t Ag over 7.2 meters true width within a broad zone of lower grade mineralization that returned 0.63 %Cu and 3.8 g/t Ag over 37.8 meters true width. Hole HA-09-P was collared in barren footwall rocks and terminated at 18 meters. Broad zones of lower grade mineralization were intersected in holes HA-12-P to HA-14-P which tested the zone over an additional 1 kilometer to the northeast.

In total, the new discovery has been tested with 14 cyclone-percussion holes along a total strike length of 2.0 kilometers (Figure 2). The mineralization is open along strike in both strike directions and down dip.

Percussion drilling is currently testing soil geochemical anomalies generated from the recently completed soil sampling program.

For details on current drilling activities refer to attached maps and links http://www.hanamining.com/s/Ghanzi.asp?ReportID=303741).

Quality Assurance/Quality Control

Hana has implemented an industry-standard QA/QC program. A 35-40 kilogram sample is collected from the cyclone discharge at 1 meter intervals. The sample is then split 75/25; 75% of the sample is archived and the other 25% provides material for analysis. Three meter composite samples from 3 successive intervals are collected from the split of each 1 meter interval. The composited sample is submitted for analysis and the 75%-split is reserved for more detailed 1 meter follow-up sampling and analysis of mineralized intervals. All samples are double bagged, sealed and transported in secured wooden crates and shipped to Scientific Services Laboratory in Cape Town, South Africa. Standards, blanks and duplicates are inserted into the sample stream for diamond drill and RC samples.
